Yo, everyone! It is me again, Tembikai Master!
Hi, everybody, you know what? My blog is green! (Of course! In case you are, colour blind, no offense, seriously.)Haha, in addition, it suits my title today --Earth Hour. Earth Hour is what I am going to tell you all today. Pretty boring huh? Last post is Earth Day, then today is Earth Hour, what next? Earth Minute? Earth Second? Earth Decade? Eh, cut it off! If everyday my article is about this kind of topic, I also get bored! I am human too, I have feelings!!!
Back to our topic... Earth Hour is an annual international event started by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Australia in 2007 that asks households and businesses to turn off their lights and non-essential electrical appliances for one hour in the evening. WWF Australia and the Sydney Morning Harald promoted this event and it is widely known now.
Strong backing from the City of Sydney and its Lord Mayor,Clover Moore, helped to make Earth Hour 2008 an international event. The official Earth Hour website has confirmed that over 286,000 people and over 20,000 businesses had signed up for the event as of 1 p.m. GMT.
Many cities and countries from all over the world had participated in this international event and they hope that with this little “lights out” action can reduce the impact to the global warming and greenhouse effect. In addition, they have proved that they are right. Here are some facts that achieved during the Earth Hour:
If the greenhouse reduction achieved in the Sydney CBD during Earth Hour sustained for a year, it would be equivalent to taking 48,616 cars off the road for a year.
26 international Earth Hour flagship cities in 10 countries across the globe.
370 supporting cities around the world (please see attached list) makes it the largest voluntary power down event in history.
Support from significant international landmarks, which include: Seoul Tower the tallest building in Northeast Asia, Casey Station Antarctica, Niagara Falls, Americas infamous jail Alcatraz, Prince Charles; Gloucestershire residence, Highgrove House.
2.2 millions of people turned off their lights
The best result was from Christchurch, New Zealand. The city reported a drop of 13% in electricity demand.

Ps: A small opinion from Tembikai Master:
Why Kuala Lumpur is not in the list? Maybe we are not that hardworking…(no offense)
Now, here is the video about the Earth Hour.
Isn’t the fact and also the video amazing and great, huh?
As you all know, our Earth is “melting” especially the North Pole and South Pole. Therefore, if we still doing nothing just sit there and keep continue polluting the environment, the Earth will not become our home anymore. We will not survive under the polluted air, neither humans nor other living things. Until then, we will have to find other planet to stay, but the chances is tiny and Earth is the only planet the supports the needs and requirements of living things to live. We need oxygen, water and a suitable temperature place to live, and where are we going to stay if Earth highly damaged and polluted by our selfish actions?

Think about it, guys and girls! The Earth is a give from the God. They did not harm us or kill us, but why are we polluting the Earth? Why are we acting so selfish? Fortunately, the climate change and the rising of temperature is one of the punishments for all of us, to make us realise that the Earth is sick!
So what are waiting for? Start going green like my blog’s colour!!! It is all green in colour. Just like the original Earth! Going green is the best! Come on, Earth and human, we can do it!
Loving Earth so much that I cannot resist,
Tembikai Master
